Life wouldn't be life without a little bit of disaster...

So, on a less spiritual and more earthly note, i've had more big changes lately! This happened a while ago as well, the weekend after the temple sealing actually. My best friend had the idea that she wanted to change up her hair a bit, so we went to the always handy world of Walmart to check out our options. she has had brown hair for years, since she was a freshman in high school i am pretty sure, so she decided she wanted to put a little bit of blonde in it. My hair had been blonde for years, and i liked it that way, but the roots needed a little fixing. so we picked a box of blonde hair dye that we both liked, and decided that we would use it to put a few streaks in her hair since she only wanted a couple, then we would use the rest to fix up my hair....

in case no one has ever told you this before...

never trust store bought blonde.

tends to go a little....orange.

before we decided to fix my hair ourselves...this is what i looked like...

Sadly..i wouldn't let anyone take a picture of me when my hair was ORANGE from the store bought blonde...but to give you a little hint it was a little bit like this...
Only....much much worse. it got more obnoxiously orange the closer it got to the root and more BLEACHED white the closer to the ends...like a terrible terrible melt.

So of course, the only logical solution was to destroy any integrity that my hair may have previously had..and go for an all out shift.

This was just the first of a sequence of three boxes of brown hair dye that it took to cover all of the orange nightmare...
So if it seems like a come to class each week with a different color hair...that is probably because i do.

So no, i did not intend to do this...just kinda..happened.
Moral of the story...never trust 'Nice and Easy'

  1. Sounds like the time when I went to a salon to get my hair dyed brown with some blonde mixed in...and it turned out bright RED!
Nonetheless, I think you look great with darker hair as well as blonde! :)

  3. Bummer! Sounds like Murphy's law at work! At least the brown turned out great! Nice touch on the pictures! That made the blog really interesting! If I ever have the urge to do something crazy with I my hair, I'll remember not to go for store bought blonde! ;)
