Laundry, Lack of Concentration, and Late Work

This, is how i felt at the beginning of this day. My room had been taken over, COMPLETELY, by laundry. The good thing about it was, it was all clean laundry, it was just scattered all over my floor, and bed..and desk, and chair, and everywhere else imaginable in my little college housing bedroom. You see, i actually enjoy doing laundry. Something about carrying my little basket full of laundry and soap down to the laundry room and using my little laundry card to wash and dry my clothes makes me feel like an adult even though i'm pretty sure i stole this laundry basket from a friend. (Sorry Suzy, i promise it wasn't intentional) The problem is, the one thing i hate doing more than anything, is folding/hanging up my laundry, so after it gets washed, it tends to just...pile up.

This leads into my next problem, my lack of concentration. The more time that goes on here at BYU, the more insane i start thinking that i actually am. My ability to concentrate has 100% disintegrated into thin air. I've learned that the only way i can get anything productive done, like homework for example, is if i am in a room, with absolutely no noise, no one other than myself, no cell phone, no Facebook, absolutely no distractions, and a nice clean work space to spread out all of my materials. This means i can't study with friends, or play music in the background on my computer. I can't have a tab open to Facebook or Pinterest or it is a complete lost cause. I can't sit in my bed or on my floor and use my lap top, which completely destroys the purpose of a portable computer in the first place, and i need it to be clean. (Yes, i know, i sound insane, it's because i am.) This meant that since my clean laundry had taken over my room, it was absolutely impossible to get any work done.

Taking me to my final issue....Late work. There is nothing worse than late work, for everyone involved. Teachers hate late work, because it makes them think the student doesn't care about their class or doesnt' see it as a priority. It also usually means they need to go out of their way to grade something rather than grading it at the same time as all the others when they have all their good grading juices flowing. Students hate late work because it just means that teachers take something that they have (sometimes) worked very hard to do their best on, and dock it points because it was late. So no matter how much effort is put into the assignment, you will never get a full grade if it is late.

So today was my ambitious day, when i decided that i was not only going to fix one of my problems, but solve them all in one fail swoop, at least temporarily. I got home from work and folded all my laundry, and took my one last load down to the laundry room. Cleaned my study area up and set out all my materials to get some homework done, and made a resolution that everything would be turned in 100% on time this week. (baby steps people) So as i sit here, so intently focused on doing my homework i realize that my last load of laundry has been sitting in the laundry room dryer for about two hours. Shoot. So i ran down there to grab it, only to find a picture that looked somewhat like this.....

....SERIOUSLY!? all of my nice fresh clean laundry was dumped on the dirty laundry room floor, and someone else's clothes were spinning around in the dryer i was using!...but was i concerned enough to re-wash them? no. i was not. so now i have one last load of somewhat clean laundry sitting in a basket on my bed, i am more concentrated on being mad at whoever dumped my laundry than my homework, and study time is winding down quicker and quicker...seems like a vicious cycle to me.
